2021 Report

For more information about the Water Quality Report, please attend one of our monthly or annual meetings.

Water quality tests are conducted at 11 locations around the lake and at 10 locations in the watershed twice a year, with an annual report in early spring. Riparians can request copies of the reports to be sent to them.

Water Quality Remediation Efforts

1. Timber Char – Each riparian should now have four filters installed on their docks for the summer.
2. Members of the board have been working to install filters around the 30 drains that pour into our lake. While they were unable to address all, they did address most of the major offenders. See photos here

Shoreline Buffer (Natural Planting Border)

A shoreline buffer, or natural planting border along the water’s edge, is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect the health of our lake. By replacing turf grass with native or low-maintenance plants, this buffer helps filter runoff, reduce erosion, and keep excess nutrients and chemicals out of the water. It also creates a more stable shoreline and supports local wildlife—all while maintaining a clean, intentional landscape look. For guidance on creating your own shoreline buffer, see the resources below.
